I can't find too much info on all of the off the shelf forged piston weights... I would like to do some research into this. Particularly interested in 4032 flat tops, but would like to gather as much info as I can.
Is ther a spread sheet somewhere? I think most of the slugs are made by TRW but everyone machines it a little bit different. I also kind of like the Mahle boxed design, but haven't looked at much else for the mod motors. Their online catalog is way out of date, and it's hard to come by this info it seems.
Actually, if I get enough info, I'll produce a spreadsheet with approx weights for different CC pistons by differenct manufacturrs, with bore information.
If you guys with forged pistons here would do me a favor and look at the cards that came with the pistons, and let me know the folowing:
Manufaturer:
Part Number:
Alloy:
Dish CC:
Average weight (without rings):
Variance from heaviest to lightest:
Compression/Boost:
I'll post this in a few other forums. If someone comes across published piston weight information for the 4.6L, please let me know.
