Ford screwed me out of 2 rivets.

Well, it did take me 16 years to realize it but Ford only supplied 3 of the four rivets on each side of the Cobra. I filled the hole with some silicon to prevent water from getting in the door and repainted the trim piece that sits above the rivets.:rolling:

Maybe a dumb question but why are there rivets in that location?

The rivets hold the plastic retainers that the upper door trim slides onto.


In all my years in the mustang salvage yard business, I don't remember seeing a fox door that had all four trim retainers on it. The bean counters probably figured out the that leaving off a 1cent part could cut cost.

...I guess if they are all missing, then none are missing...lol!! (it was funny...laugh--mine arent there either...)

not to hijack or anything, but, how do you get that piece of trim off??

Under the upper lip of the door on the end their is a screw that you take out and then just slide the molding off.

Slide new one one, put screw back in, and your done! :rolling:
