Im tearing into the MK8 motor. It came out of a 1996 Lincoln. The Valve cover sticker says 11/21/95. But Im looking at the camshaft caps and find an F70E-6B277-AB. I always thought ford numbering went C-1960's, D-1970's, E-1980's and F-1990's. The F7 part would mean a manufacture in 1997. This being the case the motor either was
1. Replaced with a newer motor or
2. That particular part had an issue and was replaced with a newer one sometime in its service life.
The other cam caps seem appropiate for 1995. I was wondering if this was a problem for ford on these engines?
