I wanted to replace my clutch cable with an OEM cable and got some confusing responses and may have unfortunately ordered the wrong part.

Ford Dealer says PN 2R3Z-7535-AA (none in stock)
Lethal Performance PN 2R3Z-7535-AA
Maximum Motorsports - Universal 96-04
Dallas Mustang - says universal 96-04
Late Model Restoration - XR3Z-7535-CA (Does not fit 03-04 Cobra)

The issue is that I ordered XR3Z-7535-CA and LMR shipped the thing so fast that I couldn't cancel the order in time.

I originally thought that Ford OEM cables were universal for 1996 - 2004 Mustangs. Does anyone know the difference? Are they universal or not?

I picked up 2R3Z-7535-AA from a local dealer and have XR3z-7535-CA coming from LMR. I'll inspect them and post any differences.

Mystery solved:
2R3Z-7537-AA the 03-04 Cobra cable is 1/2" to 3/4" shorter on the clutch fork end in length than XR3Z-7535-CA.

I imagine that is can be made up with an adjustable cable and firewall adjuster if the longer 96-04 cable is used, so that is why there is disagreement on if they are universal or not.

Bump for a quick question. Have a t56 going into my 02GT with a coyote swap.

Anyone know if the reasoning is t56 specific? I understand what this info implies, I just don't have my tr3650 anymore to do a direct comparison.
