This is a different dilemma than you may think. I put an 04 console in my 98, and was looking to buy an 01-04 fog light switch to wire it in. However, they seem to be Iike hen's teeth. I went to a local boneyard a couple days ago and found a couple of Ford Escape fog light switches. They are the same shape as the 01-04 Mustang piece and therefore pop into the correct hole without issue. However they have a 5 wire pigtail, where my 98 and the 01-04s have 4 wires. The 01-04 Mustang pigtail even snaps into one of the Escape switches (there's 2 different designs apparently for the Escape), but with the Mustang pigtail wired up according to instructions I found online, the lights dont come on. I also tried using the Escape pigtail and wiring it up using the correct pins in the harness, but still no luck, plus an extra wire still. The correct wiring SHOULD be My car wiring > 01-04 pigtail Yellow > White/Black Red/Black > Brown Black > Black Light Blue/Red > Light Blue/Red Here's a few pics that may help. The top pigtail is from a Ford Escape, the bottom one is from an 01-04 Mustang. They both snap into that Escape switch. This pic shows the 2 different style plugs for the Escape switches, but the wire colors remain the same. These are the 2 Escape switches. The one with the wider light is the one with the same plug as the Mustang.
