Im looking at buying new wheels for my car and i want to run a 345-30/18. That size wheel and back spacing will i need. Also what modifications will i need to do for clearance. Thanks in advance
Not sure what my back spacing is but I run 18x11 true forged wheels with 335 Hoosiers with low pro irs bolts and rolled fenders. I have a decent amount of room on both sides It has never rubbed and I think I could run 345 no problem. But I am going solid shortly so it won't matter.
I have a half inch of space between the stock IRS bolt heads and my Rival 335s on CCW 18x11s. I would do low profile bolts to fit 345s
Member Competition ran 345s, you might ask him
I dont but I believe CCW sets them at 6.75" in the backSweet thanks. You happen to remember your back spacing?

I don't see the point of running a super wide tire with out increasing the rim width. You can run a 315 and a 335 tire on a 10.5 rim, for example, but still have the same size contact patch on the road. The excess tire just tapers upwards and forms a bulge.

Sage advice. OP, are you hell bent on running a wide tire? Are you looking for driving it daily, or random trips to the strip? That alone makes the biggest difference in "what to buy" in a tire.
FWIW: I have 335/30/18, on CCW 18x11. The BFG manual calls for "11.5-12.5"" for the 335 width. Their next size down is a 295/35/18, the BFG manual calls for "10-11.5" rims. I elected to go 335 on a 18x11 CCW, had a HELLUVA time finding a shop that would install a 30 series tire and warranty the work. We won't even get into fender rolling spacers.:bash:
As I stated im looking to buy new wheels and tires there for i will be purchasing i wider wheel for the wider tire
Best thing you can do is get the dimensions for the rims your looking at then take actual measurements on your car and see if they will fit.
Tire wise, you would need a 12" wide rim to partially satisfy a 335 let alone a 345 tire. By satisfy I mean make full intended contact patch touch the road.
So what would be the best size tire for a 10.5 or 11" rim? And by best I mean what will provide the greatest surface are for contact point. I was going to get a 11" rim and throw a 335 on it but makes sense when you say you can go to big on tires and basically just waste a tire.
