first year of 31 spline axel?

Sooo did the cobras get the 31 spline in 01 or 03?
I had heard Ford claimed 31 spline in 99 but they didn't actually get them till 03?

Then someone else said with the '00 Rs they went to 31 and carried that over to the 01 cobras?

Clarification anyone?

The 2001s came equipped with 31 splines. '99s came with 28 spline axles from the factory.

Can't recall the '00R part of your question - might help to search in the "R" section for that info...

and as far as the '00R IRS, they don't share the same parts as the IRS in the 01-04 cobras. They use different length halfshafts and a different differential housing.
