first time at track

Well a group of us went to Test and Tune last night at Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas, VA. We went up there to test out this 68 camaro with a 572 and there was another lightning there so i decided i would run. THis was the first time not only running my truck but the first time for me racing at the track. I had the bald f1's on too. I could feel my trans slippin a couple times bc its leaking and i havent taken it yet to get replaced.

The last run i did i left late bc i wasnt paying attention and i also let out of it bc i wasnt paying attention to what i was doing. I think i did pretty good for the first time. I might run again friday with the nittos on to see how much of a difference it makes.

It seems to me you should have done better. Were you loose on your launch?
You need to improve your 60' times. I figure you should have at least run an 8.20 w/ your current mods.

yeah i thought i should have done better also...my launch sucked all 4 times...i kept spinning. The last past i hooked alot better but i left late and left off of it...i dont know why i did though. Hopefully with the nittos ill hook better and get better 60' times

Your first run 60ft time was 2.2 with a final speed of 82.8
your second run 60ft time 1.9 with a final speed of 81.6
I dont get it. Shouldnt your speed with the second run be a little faster with that 60ft time?

It was just test and tune, they dont prep the track as good, and i was on the f1's..that might have alot to do with it

It didnt have THAT much to do with it, with a 1.9 60' in there, that was a pretty decent track prep.....

Dont worry you will get use to it!! It takes practice!! Make sure to heat the Nittos pretty good when you run them!!

According to his sig he's putting down 373.5/503tq.
He's putting down about the same amount of torque as I am.

If that is directed at me, on the #2 side of the chip I'm at 380/460 on a very fat tune.

THat were my old numbers without the 90mm MAF, and thunder pipe...with a little safer tune. the tune i have now is a lil more aggressive...so hopefully ill be way past the 373
