Well on saturday i went down the 1/4 mile for the first time. And with nittos that would not hook and a clutch that would not enguage 3rd or 4th.
I ran a shitty 13.1.

Learned a lot, such as need new clutch and dr.
I had to let out on gas and jam 3rd and 4th forcefully. YAY

lol, I had the exact some problems. You need a firewall adjuster.

I ran 13.1@104 hiccup shifting 3 and a missing 4th entirely.

When I hit all the gears I was trapping right with you.

Practice, Practive, Practice and you'll get those ETs down!

While I am no expert I have made well over 100 track passes. Probably 75% of them on Nitto DR. The Nitto's will hook fine, you just need to practice. While your slip does not show your 60', my best has been 1.68. Which is pretty good for the Nitto's. Also your reaction time needs a little work. While that does not make a diff. in your e.t., it does make a diff. on who crosses the line first. Leave the line when you see the last yellow light, don't wait for the green. Air down your Nitto DR to about 18psi. Your launch RPM will depend on your mods. Looking at your trap speed you should be able to run mid-low 12's. Good luck and enjoy the ride.

i have the extreems

Get some ET streets and your short times will drop in a hurry...the ET streets will also reduce wheel hop a lot

i understand your problem as ybergeist mentioned. you can simply adjust your clutch and be fine.

about Nitto drags, i have to disagree ANYONE on this board says nittos don't hook! if you are putting down some crazy power, i understand but a pullied or ported cobra should hook great with Nittos if the driver knows how to drive/launch.

i put down 478rwtq and i hook fine with nittos. i spun them whenever i want to but when i wanna hook, they hook.
for the first time with nittos i cut 1.74 60' with easy 2.5k rpm launch.
My buddy cuts 1.6s 60' with nittos as well.

M/Ts are definetely better but i would prefer to have nittos and drive them 10+k miles and still hook great, instead of having M/Ts and drive them 4-5k miles and get another set. just my 0.02

BTW: the nittos i have are 275s.

most important part of the equation is that it is you're first time to the track. You will get better with practice.

also depends on the track... altitude and weather. my vette ran a 12.7 stock at High altitude w/ 102 degree weather when it should have been running around 12.4 12.3 .. (also first time at the track)

Yep practice makes perfect! Just keep going and you will get better.

I was looking at your sig there...um you make 591RWHP. Are you at a very high elevation?

damn! i didn't see that part. even 10000ft D/A should be better than 13.1 with almost 600rwhp. something is up!

I didn't see those numbers either.....i thought you were probably stock.......all you need is practice, my friend ran his 96 cobra with full bolt on's and 4.10's at the track and only managed to get a 14.5 his first visit:( but after we went a few more times he's gotten it down to mid 13's consistently and he's still working on getting better......just takes practice.
