My Nitto DRs didn't get here in time so my 60' times aren't that good, but I had 6 runs today. Here they are you guys that know more about this than me, please give me some advice. BTW, this was my first time on a track ever.

#1 -- Best Run
60'--2.11
12.74 @ 112.02

#2
60'--2.27
13.02 @111.69

#3
60'--2.32
13.00 @ 112.21

#4
60'--2.31
[email protected]

#5
60'--2.35
13.10 @ 111.63

#6

I know I have to pull the 60' times down. Thanx for any advice or input.

i just put on some drag radials. bfg. and they hooked up great on the street but at the track i had a hell of a time. track was hot and slick. best 60" was a 2.028. i thought for sure i would get a 1.8 or 1.9. i thought my speed and 1/4 mile time was decent for no chip or pulley. i got to work on my driving.

you are doing something wrong...most likely your shifting. try not lifting off the gas, and banging the gear as hard as you can. with your mods you should be in the low 12 high 11 sec range at well over 116MPH.

on street tires your ET is effected, the MPH should be consistant. Your MPH should be at worst, 116 mph. What was the weather like? was it really hot and humid? whats your elevation?

Rather hot and humid, the track I went to today is in SW Missouri not sure of the elevation. It is the oldest track in the US(that is what they say), in continuous operation. MOKAN in Asbury Mo. So I should shift w/o letting off the throttle? Ok, got it. I have a beltronics fx2 (kinda like the GtechPro). It was really close to my time slips today, so I will take the car out tomorrow and see what I can do. I will let you know. Thank again

no prob...on your 1-2 shift stay on the gas 1/2 throttle, on the others stay full throttle, and dont get off the gas until you are a bit passed the 1/4 mile b/c your MPH is calculated for the last 60'

Ok, based on what you have said so far, my rather consistent speeds indicate to me that my shifting is consistent even if it is jacked up right?

I think so...your MPH just seems really odd. I am going to sleep so I hope someone else will take over.:burnout:

Dude here has Predator, 2.8, and CAI and he has seen low 12's- high 11's. You should be there also but i think your elevation is a bit much. Heat and humidity affects him a little also has someone else stated. Wait for cooler temps.

Dgussin1, if you look at this again. I just thought of something that may be important. My car, 1/4 tank of gas and me weigh 3906, if the scales are right. I am 6'2"/240. I am not sure exactly how much weight all the suspension mods adds and I don't know how much the car weighed before I started. I have heard anything from 3400 to 3600.

I'm definitely not an expert but I'm thinking many factors come into play when drag racing. The track, the driver (the biggest factor is my poor driving), the weather, the tires, etc. Down here in San Diego, we have Carlsbad and though it's at sea level, it's a horrible track especially for anyone on street tires. I've only gone twice so far but my mph and et aren't exactly where they should be as well. Like you, I'm 225lbs and ran with a 3/4 full tank of gas last week in somewhat warm weather for San Diego. Not the most conducive for quick et's and high mph. I'm wondering what a bone stock 03/04 Cobra would run down here with a good driver. Any examples?

What was the competition running for a comparison? Meaning, were their cars that should have been running much faster that were not? Last week at Carlsbad there were a couple of cars on street tires running slower than most do. A new Viper running a string of 13.0's @110-111. A heads/cam Z06 running a best of 13.2@120. Bolt-on C5's running mid 13's @105-107. A nice bolt-on Mach 1 with slicks ran a 12.9-13.0@107.

Not really sure about the other guys, went with some of my buddies, primarily an 03 SRT-4. He had made some changes so he spent the day tweaking the car and wasn't running his normal times anyway.

yes, i hate to say it, but your mph is way to low!! for the amount of hp your handing out!!

i clocked 116mph at a 3000 elevation with my cobra street tires... 2.23 60ft

INT WTF K? I will try the powershifting that Dgussin said to do, I am driving with my foot buried not sure what to do.

Does it have to do with the weight of the car? car+me+1/4 tank of fuel = 3906lbs

I've been trapping 116-118 this summer in Florida. Another possibility is the MPH is just low for that track. I don't think the weight has anything to do with it. I run over 3/4 tank of gas and weigh 220+ myself. I've got a timeslip from today with a similar 60' to yours to use as a comparison.
60' 2.15
330 5.509
1/8 8.172
mph 92.20
1/4 12.396
mph 117.09

This was late in the day after it had rained on us 3 times, so the track was fair, but not great. Temp was somewhere around 90, and with the rain the humidity was up there. Had a strong crosswind, and baro was 29.9 or so IIRC. I'm also on F1's and don't powershift. Comparing these 2 runs I think either your track mph timers are lower than others, your loosing you time and mph on the shifts, especially the 2-3, or the track isn't very good and your spinning going down the track, not badly but enough to slow you down. If your on DR's I doubt the last is the case, but I have been to some really bad tracks and experienced it myself. Keep practicing so you can bust off some real good runs this winter!
