Finding someone prior service member

I served in the Marines from 1985 through 1991 and was trying to get in contact with a old Marine Corp buddy. I've tried searching on line and was even able to determine he is in West Palm beach Florida but any further information requires a payment first. Anyone here able to locate someone based off a name and age only? I don't have a birth-date or SSN or I could have tracked him by now.
