I'll send $10 to the person who finds me the best car under 1k for daily driving in the Oregon area. I don't want to have to bend over backwards for parts, so aftermarket/junkyard availability a must.

I would almost prefer four doors since I have a daughter and inevitably she'll be riding in Daddy's car, but the right two door is just fine. Wagons are as ever awesome. I would appreciate the best fuel economy I can get.

It will be raced in some type of event or another.

geo metro....anything can be raced.....it's just going to be rediculously slow. good gas mileage. 4 door, and can be had for under 1000 or some kind of old volvo/volvo wagon. that is going to be your best bet.

I like the Volvos with IPD right up in the Portland area close by, and the Metro is something I'm definitely watching for.
