Well after 4 days in the shop I finally got my Mach back. They fixed the front end squeak and my passenger seat rub. From what I understand, the fix for the seat rub involves some shim on the side bolster which moves it away from the door. I'm guessing they had to take the seatcover off, and now that its finished the seat covers do not fit right at all!!!! The leather is all wrinkled now and looks like crap. It's loose on both side bolsters and you can literally pull an inch or so of slack with your fingers. I brought this to the attention of the service manager and he said when the car is brought back in for the cylinder head, they will "take care of it" I don't know if that means they are gonna try to reseat the cover or what. I'm thinking now that the side bolster is repositioned, it won't have the same amount of resistance against the seat covers as it did originally. Maybe I can get away with a whole new seat cover or maybe a seat?
Oh yes....my left cylinder head is being replaced as well. I got a call two days ago saying they were just gonna replace the cylinder head gasket, but when I came to pick the car up today, I guess the Ford Hotline said to just to the whole cylinder head all together. In a way that makes me feel a lot better, seeing as how a lot of others with the tick are getting the same fix and mine wont be just a half-assed attempt.
On the other hand I don't like the idea of Ford taking my engine apart, regardless of whether or not its just a cylinder head.

Now that I've had the chance to drive the damn thing I'm hearing a loud clicking noise coming from what sounds like the rear end. I don't know if it's an alignment issue or what because when the service manager called me yesterday, he said they were in the middle of the alignment after they fixed the front end. This is really pissing me off that my car has been returned to me with more problems than what I dropped it off with.:mj:

I agree with you L.B but I don't feel I should have to pay to take my car to a shop for warranty items that FORD needs to take care of.
I guess if you want something done right you have to do it yourself.
By the way, I have more than 35 posts and I looked into changing my avatar and there isnt an option for it. What gives?

Steve you're absolutely right on the "principle" part of it...but I'm over that...I'll just spend my money...

You should be able to change your avatar...it's under "edit options" on User CP...not "edit profile"

Actually L.B I'm out on another mission writing this from Spain. I'm gonna schedule an appointment to have the cylinder head replaced and have them look at this new squeak I have in the rear end. The sound coincides with the rotation of the left rear wheel. I went to take the wheels off to check it out and the first lug came off way to easy with the tire iron. I then tried one with my finger and what do you know, it came right off. Oh man, just imagine if my wheel popped off while driving on the highway. I'm gonna let the dealership have it when I come back in. I was pretty damn patient with them the 4 days it was in there while the parts were "behind schedule" every day, and also when I picked the car up and my passenger seat leathe looked like garbage. No more Mr. Nice guy when I go back. I'm starting to understand why people are bashing ford more and more. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't drive anything else, but come on, what happened to "quality care" you know?
Anyways, I'm thinking of putting 4:10's in. How do they feel on the highway? I've heard the car feels as if its running out of steam up top.
My magnaflow setup is breaking in nicely more and more everyday. I love em! THanks for the recommend.

The 4.10s are SWEET...feels like you are in the powerband all the time...

NO problem at top end...I hit 142 mph on a recent Vegas run and had pedal to go  It was still pulling in 5th but I ran out of clear lane :bash:

My pleasure on the Magnaflow call...I love mine too...I'd never steer you wrong :p

I have some other plans in the works as well...I'll let you know ;-)

Vegas run heh? Man I love vegas, my Mom's entire side of the family lives there and I'm always visiting for xmas or my bday (halloween) I bet crusing the strip in the Mach is a blast. WHere do guys prefer to go in Vegas. There are so many friggin choices its kinda hard. I myself like the sahara, just because I'm cheap and they are one of the few casinos left with dollar black jack.
I also love the luxor pyramid and the many many strip clubs there.
