It's a shame Lincoln doesn't do performance because a performance-minded Aviator could slot in well with this group with the luxury and style they have been able to incorporate lately.
I know what you mean with the G Cherokee though. I have always liked them but the overall experience has always been lackluster. Never driven the Trackhawk but it was always the steering and overall feeling of not feeling connected to the car that bugged me.
Yeah, it was kind of like one of those "never meet your heroes" moments. The upcoming Aviator is absolutely gorgeous! The only issue I have with that one [for now] is that it will be a plug-in hybrid with no V8 option available. Also, we don't want a 3-row SUV. However, I would definitely make an exception for a V8 Aviator.
How modded is your GT500?
...
Little bit of this, little bit of that.
FCA wants $95k for those things?
Has the whole world gone crazy?
I believe you can option one up to $105K.
Have you looked at a gently used G63?
I don't like the looks of the G-wagon.
Is the new V-8 X5 on your consideration list? In the trucks your looking at, maybe the 460HP isnt enough. Will tow 7200 lbs now.
I've never been a fan of the X5. Now it's even uglier. Also, it makes zero pretensions at being anything other than a pavement vehicle. The vehicle we get will be subjected to everything we put the Forester XT through; off in the weeds, mud, rutty roads, unpaved mountain passes, dogs/cargo/dirt in the back (with protection, of course), etc. The X5 isn't really suited for any of that, based on my admittedly limited research of it.
Buying a new Cayenne turbo will be like throwing money down a drain. They lose value like crazy. Buy a two year old with low miles and save $50k.
We'd have it for the long haul, so depreciation isn't a major concern.
Goodwrite up, thanks. Have you thought of the new alfa SUV? Cant recall the name but saw Doug Demuro review and he spoke very highly.
I have considered the Stelvio or whatever it's called. It's right along the lines of the X5; pavement only.
I would have serious concerns about owning a Trackhawk out of warranty.
Agreed. I had an FCA car before, and thank goodness I bought an extended warranty! I loved the car. It ended up being a piece of trash, but I still loved it. Believe it or not, I still think of it fondly in spite of it practically falling apart. It was built by the SRT team before they had an official name.
