So, they upped production because of demand. "we will build all the 500's drivers demand" sound familiar? All you guys paying way over MSRP lube up. I'll wait a little while. If 9000 dosn't do they'll up the production again. IMO

This all sounds very familiar. Anyone remember the 3000 unit "final production number" for the Mach1s? They actually built 9652 in 03 and another 7182 in 04.

They will pump out as many of these GT500s as their retailers will buy. Fords stock price is now below 7 bucks a share with a junk rating on their corporate paper. There is no logical reason for them to build fewer units of anything than can be sold.

while that makes sense, a majority of people will only "see" the car, get interested, go to the dealership learn that it is 40k plus and opt to buy a v6 or gt for a lot less, ford makes more money on those cars.

They would not be able to source enough t66 trannys for that many gt500's. Expect 10k to be the max.

You read my mind....all the hype on the Mach in less than 6 months they were giving them away with rebates....next spring anyone who wants one will be able to buy one :coolman:
