They only made ~6 of the first ones. I have only seen one in my life. The ZL1 and the 83 maybe the only rarer vette.

I researched it and your right there was a 1970 ZR1 package in 1970. I guess the 1990 version is the first one "massed" produced and therefore considered original.

Yeah the 70 ZR1 was very, very limited production. If I was at home I could look up the exact number but it was under 100 if Im not mistaken.

In 71 they made 8.
In 72 they made 20.
They also offered a ZR2 package in 70 and 71 which included the same options but the LS6 motor. There were zero ordered in 70 and 12 in 71.:read:

I looooooove C4 ZR1s. The motors just plain kick ass. I went to school with a guy who had a black '90 ZR1. It was lowered, had big ole CCWs and 335s, some motor work and exhaust work, and a big shot of nitrous. He tried to get me to race him all the time in my '04 Cobra, but I woulda got waxed. The thing sounded amazing. :rockon::rockon:
