No not the pump in the car, the one at the gas station. Last 2 fill-ups at different station both had broken auto shut offs. Luckily I stayed with the car to witness gas pouring all down the side. In 20 years I have not had this ever happen, then twice in a row in my Cobra, WTF?? Car stinks, wax is gone..

When I told the attendants they both said "Again?"

So I guess be aware of signs of a clean up next to a pump and use another.

Yeah this happened to me at a Sunoco station in NY. I saw what appeared to be kitty litter or a more professional grade of absorbent and payed no mind to it. Figured some neon lost oil or something. Started pumping and didnt notice until the fuel gushed out of the neck. Got the same response from the attendant as you, also happened to the pump next too it. To bad i didnt pre-pay that day
