Call me crazy, but I can kinda see the way Larry's Lightning evolved from the F100. I just noticed it by looking in his sig.

I like the F100 myself.

Love them....Classic looks never go out of style.....They just don't build them like they used to....

What he said! Personally I would like to build one slammed with a big block, maybe a tilt front end in like a dark burgandy metallic or I even like the color of the one on the cover of Jegs' catalog. 56 is a sweet ride.

My dads got left out in a golf-ball sized hail storm at a rod-run on accident. Only thing it did was ding up the chrome trim.

They are beautiful! I love them..

Your only problem with the poll? You left out the selection, "I love them, I already own one!"

Ok I don't own one that old, but I do own a 1980 stepside F100. It's as close as I can get to those old classics like the 56, or my personal favorite, the 55.

worthless info

Nice!

Ford had the F1 in 1948-52

Replaced by the F100 in 1953-56. They came with the I-6 or a V-8 of 239 c.i. Most agree the '56 was the best.

The 57-60 had a lower hood which was flush w/ fenders and two headlights (per side).

The 61-66 was redesigned and went back to single headlights. You could get the 352c.i. V-8.

The 67-72 had another redesign. The 390 V-8 finally arrived. The ranger was introduced (not the small truck, but as the upscale trim on the F150).

The 73-79 had the best frame to date. Twin I-beams and the 460 c.i.

80-86 F150's!! F.O.R.D. on the hood was replaced by Blue Oval on grill. The first diesel (6.9)

87-91 redesign
92-96 aero look, Ligthning introduced
97-03 (and 04 Heritage) redesign, mod motors
04-? the best F-series truck yet (comfortable and still great tow and work trucks)

They've sold over 30 Million F-series trucks. They sell 700,000+ per year.:read:
