Lol my 18 year old little brother took out our family SUV in the middle of the night and let his friend drive it. He understeered and ran right into a tree totaling it. Inexperienced drivers trying to take turns in a shitty SUV at 40 mph.... they are lucky they didnt flip.

My totalled Mach 1 two years ago! (Ex Friend hit a tree with it!!)
Drunk driver hit me while I was at a stand still. H pipe bent and cracked oil pan. I ended up spinning and hittin the guard rail cracking the hood an puncturing the radiator. It was a hit n run at that. Needless to say the cobra was totaled out.
I got backed into on the street waiting to turn right lol. Don't know what the guy was thinking at the time.

First remotely sporty vehicle and first time driving on a really curvy road, went too wide on that turn and slid into some gravel which then caused me to hit that tree on the left. Car rolled over onto its windshield (top was down). Walked away without a scratch.

How about motorcycle accidents? I (thankfully) have never been in a car accident, but had my first bike accident after 10+ years or riding in 2007. It was an eye opener. My wife (then gf) had to take care of me, as I had a broken wrist, 7 broken fingers, a separated right shoulder, and a host of other crap:

I have raced up and down G16 many times. It's crazy how tight and narrow it gets just before it comes out of the hills before you get on 101
I lost the brakes on my big ford wagon while pulling a trailer on that road. didn't crash, just drove at 5mph until they cooled down.

2/10/12- old man made a left turn in front of me at a yellow light, I hit going about 55mph and flew 151ft, landing in the middle of the road, almost got ran over by truck.

I was in the passenger seat. 70mph into a tree backwards on my side.
Alot of hospital time, alot of titanium/screws, alot of rehab.
No cutting was done to the vehicle by rescue personnel, all damage is 100% from accident.
Driver walked away uninjured (still a close friend of mine)

Accelerated from a light on relatively dry pavement, shifted into third at about 35-40mph, and as I got back on the gas, crossed into soaked pavement. Rear started to hop, wheels quickly broke loose, revs shot up into VTEC, back end stepped out, and into trees I went. Hit the first one damn near head-on (obviously - short wheel base + wet road made it hard to correct the slide) which sent me toward another tree which is what clipped the driver's side rear. Banged my head on the roof above the window (top was up) and scraped my right arm on something.

I was the passenger in this truck. Some jackass in a Silverado decided to pull out in front of my buddy who hit him in the door at about 45mph. I was airlifted to Syracuse hospital with a cracked hip, dislocated shoulder, concussion, broken nose, head lacerations, among other things... Had my seatbelt off for 20 seconds while reaching in the back seat... And then this happened.
