Ok I am curious as to how their cars are set up. I know you would shift with the left hand but how are the pedals set up. Is it like ours (left to right) clutch, brake and gas or is it gas brake clutch? Just curious thought someone on here might know.

Only the United Kingdom (in Europe) drives on the left and has the controls on the right.

Even with the wheel and pedals on the other side of the car, the gas, brake and clutch pedals are in the same order, i.e. gas on the right foot and clutch on the left.

...you know only the British drive on the wrong side of the road, right?

Every other country in Europe is right hand drive.

Either way, the pedals go clutch, brake, gas just like here.

Edit:
Damn you EnglishAdam!

Hope I didn't offend anyone just don't know much about who drives on what I consider the wrong side. Thanks for the quick replies.

I don't think you could offend anybody with this subject.

About a quarter of the world still drives on the left, i.e. the Proper side :D

Believe it or not, the US used to drive on the correct side of the road, but to answer the OPs question, the pedals are set up the same.

Another question, on right hand drive manual transmission cars, is 1st gear nearest to the driver?

Nope.

Gearbox layout is exactly the same so 1st is away from you.

No manufacturer would go to the cost of changing a gearbox for the lhd/rhd market.

Some car makers don't even bother changing the way the wipers sweep.

 And all of them are former British "holdings". At least a few of us (US and Canada) figured things out.

I've driven some British vehicles in Afghanistan, they have them on KAF. Its really not that as strange as you think it would be. That being said I'd much rather drive a normal car.
