Engineers, need help with mechanics of materials, shear stress

I need help with this problem, cant figure it out and its driving me crazy. this part of the text-book deals with shear stresses.

as always, any and all help is appreaciated.

the answers in the back of the book say the stress at both points is 41.4MPa.
