Ok I have a bare long block sitting at the shop. The guy I made a trade with mentioned something about and 'exciter ring' that goes on the crank shaft. he said I could reuse the one from my old engine. Does anyone have any information about this, like how to remove the existing one and reinstall it on my new engine? What does it do and what exactly it looks like and such?

I also need to use my old balancer as well. Is this a pain to remove and reinstall. Any how to's about this type of work?

One other thing I have my engine torn down to the bare long block. I am hooking up my fuel pumps and was wondering if it is ok to put the power back on and trun on the accessories to see if the fuel pumps turn on. Will this damage anything (I have no fluids what so ever in the car anymore and everything is disconnected from the top half of the engine)?

I just assumed that the pumps would kick on and I would pump the fuel out of my tank.

Thanks,

johnny ray
