I have a 96 cobra with appx 160k miles on it. I purchased a 99 engine for a steal of a deal with the intentions of rebuilding it with forged rods/pistons because i got it "locked up". I started to tear it down and found the only thing wrong with it was a broken chain guide that wedged itself into the chain gear. No other problems found I removed the heads and all the cylinders and chambers were in perfect shape. This engine has between 90-100k from what I was told. Any ill affects to just put some new head gaskets and timing set on it and just run it as is?

if you had plans to rebuild it.. i would rebuild it first.. there is no reason not too.. if your car still runs, then rebuild the newer engine now, so your not swapping motors out twice.. trust me it will be money very well spent on a forged engine.. just my .02
