lately when i drive the car around for a while, the car has a tendency to rev at about 1200rpm when i'm at a dead stop. but if i ease off the clutch just a bit the revs come back down to normal rpm's. or if i blip the throttle, it'll bring the revs back down. funny thing is when it's doing it, it'll do it while i'm raking through the gears too. this only happens when i hold the clutch in while at a stop or no clutch. than i'll "knock" it down with a blip of the throttle. has any one had this problem? to me, i think it's probably the t/o bearing or the quadrant. don't know. any one want to chime in on this?

They all do it and for the most part it is normal.
Many things cause the idle to raise.

A/C compressor, power steering pressure.
If it starts hanging and not commong down then most likely it is a IAC problem,

others have talked of spraying carb cleaner in it but i'd be weary because of the electric (solenoid) part of it.

If you do decide to take it off, be very careful not to tear the gasket on it. I've found mine to be so fragile that it cracks after 10 years

Don't be weary, it has a seal between the valve part and electric part, if it is leaking there then that would be part of the problem anyway.

FWIW I've been cleaning them that way for years and years.
