I'm new to this forum and a new Cobra owner. Just bought a 01, 77K with a rod thru the block. Im working on getting the motor out and looking to build a short block at the same time. There seem to be lots of 96-98 blocks out there, and no 99/01's. If I go with an earlier block, what do I need to reuse the C -heads. I'm looking to build a strong but stock motor on a budget. Thanks

Nothing else is required, your heads will bolt onto all Modular Blocks without any modification.

Please let us know if we can help!

I picked up a 03 bare block with 25k miles, it looks good. and a set of new forged H beam rods. I've spent $425 so far. I'm not sure what pistons to get for this motor, as I plan to have the stock heads rebuilt. Thanks for any suggestions.
