stock block or long block? block is good for 1000+ with prep and long block can last anywhere from 450-600 depending on a number of factors

those are companies who will either use Iron or Aluminum. Ur stock block is Aluminum and is good for 1000 HP if prepped right.....thats just the block. How much power ur engine can handle will depend on the internals (crank, rods, pistons) you put inside of it.

Now the choice between iron or aluminum is entirely up to you. I personally have extras of both blocks for sale. It seems more ppl are interested in the Teksid aluminum blocks. But they seem to cost about the same when finished.

What about a good rotating assembly to start with after I get the block prepped, is a stroker kit reliable or should I just c if I can squeeze a 351r in there

Well I would use the factory aluminum block, talk to a specialist about the setup you plan to go with and how much power you are looking to make. They can direct you to exactly what rotating assmebly to go with. If your planning on going turbo Id look to be around 8.5:1 or 9:1 compression. And Id suggest using a reputable shop to assemble everything unless your buying a shortblock already assembled. Again its is not a simple question that can be answered. We need to know your ultimate goal. How much power, whats your budget, fuel system, etc.

Please let us know how we can help, we have some great deals on rotating assemblies and also a great deal on the new MMR 4.75 Stroker shortblock which uses all Manley Forged Internals and a Modified 2011 Coyote crankshaft (very trick) for only $2499 (limited time!!) both the assemblies and shortblocks include a 1 year warranty from MMR.

Please let us know how we can help!
