I am in the market for a new knife. I have owned several Benchmade and Spiderco's in the past but I would like something that is more on the defense or tactical side that has the following features: Seat Belt Cutter, Glass Breaker and assisted open. Do you have any suggestions?

I don't know to many that meet it but I've been happy with Benchmade/Victorinox for knives. Some of these may not meet all the requirements but I listed them anyways to possibly help you out.

Funxion EMT - not terribly expensive.

RescueTool - always like this one, not auto/assisted but still a good knife.

Here are a few I don't know to much about, some may not be assisted as again I don't know many that have all of the features.

Hinderer Rescue Tool - I have had his customs and they are good knives, but not this one

S&W First Response Knife - Inexpensive, just found it and figured I'd post it.

5.11 Tactical: Double Duty Responder Knife - Again not assisted unfortunately but may be worth a look.

Benchmade: ERT-1 Rescue Tool - Thought about this, no Knife but gives you the option of carrying this and also a knife. May not work but found it on this site.

Boker Magnum - can not find many assisted knifes to save my life.

Boker Plus: Multi-Functional Rescue Knife - Fixed blade, I know it is completely opposite of what you asked for.

Boker Magnum: EMS Folding Rescue Knife

SOG: Trident Auto Assist Folder with Groove and DigiGrip Handle - Buddy has this and it is a good knife for price.

Kershaw LFK on a keychain. Does everything it needs to do, and you'll never forget to carry it.

There are some good choices mixed in their. I will continue to have to do some additional research. I would love to find a quality knife such as a Benchmade or Spyderco that is made in the U.S. and meet most of my requirements.

Any other suggestions from viewers?

I have thought about a keychain or carabiner but not sure that I want something "dangling there", you know? I guess if there was a knife on one of those systems that had the ability to tear or break off when needed it would ne nice.

Could do a quick release clip, or a bead chain. Ive been looking for other options of an all in one with assisted opening and can't find much else. Most are just seatbelt cutter, glass breaker etc with no knife.

After further searching there are a couple out there. An S&W, Benchmade and Gerber all make one with the above mentioned options. The tough part is finding a store that has all of them so that I see them side-by-side. Worse case scenario i guess I could order all of them online and have them shipped to my house but that is something I really do not want to go through.

The Benchmade is good and I've always heard good things about the gerber hinderer so I'd say it would be between those two personally for me. I'd watch reviews on youtube and other reviews.

Edit: I completely overlooked this by Spyderco. I've had many Spyderco's and they are some of the best out there, Here is also a review for it: http://www.emtlife.com/showthread.php?t=20689

I'm a huge fan of Kershaw, I own about a dozen of them. Checkout their website, they have just about any offering you can imagine, for practically any job you need it for.

I've been back to carrying my CRKT M16-14Ti lately.

Its my favorite and I've had it the longest without breaking it.

I've owned a Kershaw Ken Onion Needs Work for about 5 years now and it's still going strong. Great to handle and wicked sharp blade that's so easy to sharpen. Priced very cheap so if you lose it no big deal. The spring assist snaps this thing open faster than a switch blade with just one finger.
