ECU/PMC help

Hello i'm a noob to the forums and it more then likely has been asked before but i'm going to ask again lol. Can i use a 4.6 2v mustang ecu pmc in my 4.6 2v 4r75w p71 cv? And if so would it help with adding power or changing the shift timing?

It would probably depend on what model year the ECU in the mustang comes out of compared to what year P71 its going into.
