Early Lightning intercooler update question.

I bought a 1999 Lightning in early 2000 when the white ones were being produced. A year or two after that, I got a letter from SVT that made an intercooler update available if I wanted. I had it done, but the local Ford dealer was not too forth coming about just what they did.

Does anyone know what this "update" included? I have heard so many tales that I really do not know. All SVT told me was the CAC was updated because some had developed leaks. In my mind, if they installed a 2001 and up cooler, it required a new mid-plate and possibly a lower intake manifold. Then that brings the odd bolt pattern on the Eaton supercharger into question. Did they replace that too?

Anyone know for sure?

Thanks, Miz

They installed a new IC that didn't leak, but it was for your 99-00 midplate. They did not swap midplates, or anything. There were specific 99-00 recall IC's. They had 10 rows, vice the 9 your stock IC had.

Very good. Thank you. You would not believe all of the crap I read elsewhere that was supposedly replaced.

It makes my future parts plan clearer.

OK, On another thread, the supposed Ford Tech said it was all in a kit.

The "recall" number is 01B81.
The Serivce Bulletin no. is 10901 dated 11/30/2001

supercharger 10 row intercooler 1L3V-6K775-CA
