e-85 /emissions test

if i add a little e-85 to my 91 octane will it help me pass my emissions test?or will it hurt the car?i have a free retest and don't won't to waste it.any info or first hand knowledge would be very helpful.:shrug:

It depends - what variable did you exceed?? I had a rough time on HC's after I installed a 2-cat exhaust over the stock 4-cat system. In that case, I let the gas get real low and added a bunch of gas line anti-freeze which is isopropyl alcohol. And, I drove that sucker hard just before the re-test to get the cats hot. It worked just enough to come in below the HC max.

Now I live in WV and there is no emissions testing in this state!!

I would not advise running any E-85 in any car unless it's made to run on it. Alcohol is a more oxygenated fuel than gasoline and it will lean your A/F way out. Could melt some things.
