I just picked this link up off a local forum: Duratec thread (The info is in the first post, feel free to ignore the rest)


I personally think it's about fricken time they got this thing out, but I was hoping its numbers would be a little less.... *ahem*..... modest

Well, let's see, 250hp and 240 lb ft aren't astounding, but they're pretty decent numbers for a V6 ford. They certainly are in line with rivals' V-6's.
As well,

sounds like a pretty capable all around engine.

with a height and width that is the same as Ford’s smaller Duratec 30 V-6

Would more power be nice? sure, yes. But it sure beats the 200hp engine that wheezes as it is. Let's hope the 3.5L makes it to the 500 and the fusion!
all in all, more power, and from what it seems to have going for it it has a lot of potential. Potential for more power, and you know what? more power is always good.
