So, Im in the rebuild years of my 1997 cobra. Just installed the new shocks bilstein HD's made a world of difference in the car. Im looking at upgrading the drive shaft and was looking at a few options

Leave alone
Carbon fiber
Titanium (anyone done this??)
aluminum

Any suggestions would be great.

Im also looking at engine and tranny swap for 2004.

Leave alone, for the cost involved you won't see increased performance in street driving.

But if you gotta have a new one a FRPP aluminum will be the best option in cost vs. performance.

Agreed with the above. I haven an FRPP aluminum DS and its a quality piece but didn't really notice anything with it and wasn't really expecting to either. I just did it for weight savings.

U-Joints

Press in a new set of U-Joints into the stock drive shaft and use the cash you save for dinner and a movie.
