lol, I know I need a new tranny. If I don't hit second just right, it's pretty rough. 4th gear is louder, I still laugh at my own car when i watch it, lol

yeh straighter cut gears. stronger sound like that. just keep an eye on the fluid. u might switch to a mercon dextron III fluid

yeh my t5 used to whine jus off of idle, man it was so bad, it always hav a blown 3rd gear

My old T5 was a whiner I replaced it with a Tremec 3550 and that thing really whined. The T45 is quiet so far

I have always used GM Synchromesh in all my manual trannies and they have shifted great, been quiet and dead reliable.
