Does anyone have a list of of stock '13-'14 GT500 vs stock ZL1 1/4 mile ETs?

Just curious about this. There's some 'smack talk' going on over on yellowbullet about the '13 GT500 vs ZL1. It seems GM boys are in denial. One of them posts one...just one video of a dead heat race between them and assume that's the normal results on the 'strip. Apparently, they're not taking into account the skill of the driver.

So, if anyone knows of a 'top ten' list of best stock ETS between the GT500 and ZL1. Please post it so I can re-post it on YB.

Check the drag times sticky on here. Pretty sure multiple guys have run these bone stock down to the tires in the low 11s.

It seems the average or norm for these cars is high 11's in the 1/4, but as ThomasL said, some guys have been able to drive them to the low 11's stock. Its just like any other car, driver and track have a lot to do with how a car performs.

Put it this way: no one over here gets excited about spanking a Zl1. Yet they are pumped about beating a GT500. Should tell you all you need to know.

I looked at both cars prior to buying the Shelby. The GT500 on average makes ~100 rwhp more, is about .5-.7 quicker in the quarter and traps 8-10mph more.

11.7@126 bone stock on stock tires 2.0 60 foot

a few bolt on mods and I went 10.8 on drag radials at 128 on a slipping clutch 1.68 60 foot

bone stock zl1 convertible automatic (owned by my cousin) will run 12.12@117 mph 1.88 60 foot all stock as well.

I looked at the yellowbullet board, and most of the trash talk just seems to be that, trash talk. Barely any real facts, and just posters calling each other's cars junk. The bottom line, I'm sure there are stock ZL1's who would beat a poorly driven stock GT500 in a drag race, just like any other car out there with a lot of power and an unskilled driver. In the end, the facts are the facts, that a stock '13-14 GT500 is capable of out accelerating a stock ZL1, and right around the stock straight line performance of a C6 Z06.

Exactly

Same here, I cross shopped both cars extensively and went with the GT500 for that reason. Nothing against the ZL1, but the GT500 was more of what I wanted.

An auto zl1 that isn't heat soaked can provide a good race against a gt500 from a standing start. From a roll they are not competitive. Ran even with one at an atco rental when I was stock. Times were within a tenth but mph was around 10mph higher if I remember right. It's on YouTube somewhere

Fast list is right at the top of this forum and camaro5 has one I believe for the zl1. Quickest zl1 stock is an auto at 11.7 if I remember correctly. Gt500 is 11.25 and easy to remember.

It's not quite the "top ten" you requested and I can't take credit for generating it, but the attached is a summary posted months ago...

I always laugh at the car and driver comparison video. The GT500 wins in every respect except braking/seat comfort and the dude chooses the ZL1 as the better car. It was pretty obvious which car the guy who lapped both cars liked(I forget who it was). Oh yeah, and the zl1 wins on bumpy roads...like we're gonna baja these cars.

Depends on where you live. A stock GT500 won't do 11.60s here in the heat. New Jersey or Florida maybe.

i do not know why the yellow bullitt boys are in denial. i had a 2013 zl1 and i now have a 2014 gt500 ,i will say this much the gt500 will hands down spank a zl1 .i even had cam and mods on my zl1 the dyno hp was 635 at the tires and i still think a stock gt500 would out run it.:pop:

Fwiw, my stock gt500 feels identical to my C6Z when it was stock. Since I've owned both I'm qualified to say the GT500 is a better all around car.

Back to Zl1 talk......
