I recently (yesterday) had a bassani catted x installed and the car has a burnt smell to it. Is this normal? Also it kinda makes a ticking air whiny noise. Is that just the x flowing right below me or something else? thanks

Central Ca,
Bassani cats are notorious for being trash. I've had them on my 01 GT 94 GT and pulled them off. When new they will smell sometimes. On my 01 i pumped gas that was of bad quality and it heated up my cats cherry red. After that I drove around for a while with a small tick as the honeycomb was damaged. I then replaced them with the magnaflow high flow cats and never had any issues.

I currently have the bassani high flows. I couldn't pass smog with them so I ordered a set of mags and rigged them to bolt on and off, I passed my inspection and went back to the bassani to save my mags. They new cats did smell for the two days that I had them on.
