Do new plug wires make any difference?

I ordered a set of FS wires for the svtf. I wanted to put them on before I get a flash tune to make sure its efficient at the time of tune. Im not looking for any real power gain, but more for a touch better mileage and making sure the adjustments in a tune come through perfectly clear to the actuall plugs. Any thoughts?

Oh, and does it pay to get a different plug and maybe a coil pack first as well? I have only 9000 miles on her.

In the new issue of Focus Fanatics, they put a Screamin' Demon coilpack and 10mm Livewires and gapped the plugs to .065" and picked up 3 hp and 3 ft/lb of torque. That was on an SVTF.
