Hey guys and gals,

Does anyone know how to temporarily disable the airbag system in our cars? I'm heading to willow springs raceway tomorrow in my mustang and don't want them to accidentally go off.

Last time I was there in my bmw there was a new camaro who spun out off of the track and had his passenger side curtain air bag go off the second he came off of the track and parked. I don't plan on spinning out but this will be the first time I take this bad girl to the track.

Any help on how and where to do this is greatly appreciated.

Pulling the airbag fuse will probably do the trick. See if you can locate the airbag computer and pull its plug too.

Cool thanks. Air bags did not deploy yesterday, haha. I spoke with the guy whose airbags did deploy as he was at the track. Turns out that he went on two wheels and his computer thought the car was going to roll over so it deployed the curtain bags. I thought it randomly happened. Said it cost him $5k for the dealer to replace.
