Did Something I've never done before......

.......and I'll do it again next year. Memorial Day has always meant to me "an extended weekend" like many younger guys so it was BBQ hoppin and booze for me!

I'm now 33 and have had Marine friends live through the Gulf War and die in Iraq.

Growing up I could not imagine what war really was....now years later I understand....Yesterday I took the time to proudly mount my American Flag outside my front door and changed the tired yellow ribbon on the maple tree.....then said a prayer for my friends and their fellow Marines...

I also watched our Pres make his annual speech on this day, but this time I actually listened.

My heart goes out to our troops and their families....and to those soldiers that never made it home from enemy soil in past wars like Guam.

Memorial Day will never be the same to me again.
