Did I just break something on my starter? (pics)

So Im well into my motor mount install and just got the starter off, sorta. I couldn't get the (ground?) cable off until suddenly SNAP, it popped off. I think its in two pieces now, is it supposed to look like this? (first time starter removal here, go easy on me)

looks like it, but its been forever since i have look at a mustang starter. just get a new one. fresh peace of mine

I'm pretty sure that wire connector was on the engine harness. Not something that buying a new starter will fix. Just have to fix the wire.

No you didn't hurt the starter. That black piece of plastice is the shield for the starter solenoid wire. Get some pliers and pull it off by the metal wire tab in the middle. Then just get a new spade terminal end and soldier it to the end of the wire you just ripped it off of.
