Posting you are deploying does not violate anything. Don't give specifics on dates, units and troop movements and you will be fine. LOL, while all the above is posted in the Army Times and local papers.

IIRC, the first 87,800 is tax free for a NCE zone. For example if you were doing a stint in Bahrain or something to that affect.

Depends where you're deploying too. There are a lot of places in the world, namely in the middle east where people have cake cushy deployments and still collect the same hazardous duty and tax free pay, that people who are actually in dangerous areas get. It normally has to be in a war zone like Afghanistan or Iraq, somewhere in the surrounding region. Even people floating on a ship many many miles away can get tax free if the ship remotely in the vicinity of such a region.

Contractors and DOD civilians have to be there a year, minus R&R to receive tax free status. At least thats how it was last year....
