1) If you schedule an appointment for a certain time, do everything in your power to keep the appointment - especially if you know the other person is going way out of their way to meet you at said time.
2) If for some reason you can't keep the appointment, offer an explanation and keep the customer up-to-date as to what's going on and when you expect to serve them.
3) While the customer is waiting, do not talk to your girlfriend for a half hour and another customer on the phone for a half hour instead of doing what work you can for the customer.
4) If you need someone else for the job, tell them in advance and make sure they're ready on time.
4a) Don't call your business associate at noon, in front of your customer, and say "Oh, you just woke up? Yeah, we need you, think you can make it today?"
