cruise control on 93 cobras, was it an option?

My buddy just bought a 93 cobra with a 11,000 miles on it. This thing is awesome. But it has no cruise control. Is that common or uncommon?

Cruise not available on 93 Cobras. This was not an option. I also have an '85 SVO, for which cruise was not available either. The story at the time was that Ford thought "real drivers" don't use cruise control.

This is something that I truly miss on my two Mustangs.

I also missed having a cruise control on my 93 and added a cruise control from Ford Taurus parts. The part numbers are listed in the SCOA.org web site. Works great!

I had heard that cruise was not an option because it would price the '93 Cobra out of their "target audience's" price range.

Man, I almost didn't buy it because of that! I was doing ALOT of 350mile trips at the time...
