I installed an 08 damper on my 07 almost two years ago. I figured it was like any other balancer install on a normal V8. Well after noticing a belt chirp that gradually got louder I went over everything and noticed the crank bolt had loosened itself.
I cranked it back down to about 125 ft pounds and figured I just didn't tighten it enough the first time(didn't fix the belt chirp btw)
Drove the car a couple more 1000 miles and checked the bolt.....loose again!
Did some research and "heard" there is a proper torque sequence to this bolt, but I've had zero luck finding it.
Hopefully the crank is OK because I've also heard of lower pulley cars snapping off the front of the crank, one of them was missing the bolt entirely. YIKES!
Anyone know the torque specs?
