Coyote vs small block weight?

Hey guys,

I'm trying to figure what motor I want to run in my 69 fastback, I am leaving no stone unturned to keep the weight as low as possible. I know I can easily make my power goals with either motor (only looking for high 600's) the biggest factor is just weight.

Does anyone know what the weight difference between a all aluminum small block ford vs a coyote would be?

Thanks
Kody

I believe the coyote is 465lbs. A Windsor 302 is right about there with aluminum heads and efi intake. Carb would be 15-20 lbs lighter.

Whatever weight penalty, the coyote is so much better at making power!

I'm leaning towards the coyote for sure, but as I said I know can make my power goals no problem with either I'm just pulling out all the stops to keep weight down.

If you are planning to build a corner carver, another consideration is CG. All the weight of the coyote engine is up high. That's a negative.
