convert to an mpeg?

I went to the track tonight and recorded an 03 Cobra vs a Civic and thought you all might enjoy it for entertainment purposes. Is it possible to convert this Hi8? camcorder stuff to an mpeg and then host it online somewhere? Do I need to buy a software program, etc?? Sorry for the ignorance...:shrug:

You have to "capture" the video from the camcorder onto your pc. The 1st thing you need is a video capture card, that will take the video from the camera and store it as a file on your pc. Next you need software that will convert that large raw video file down to size and save as a MPG. I personally own an older version of this software. It also comes with the video capture card for your PC so it is a good all in 1 solution. Good luck :thumbsup:

Thanks for the info. In case it takes me a while to figure this out, the 03 Cobra ran a 13.02 @111mph and the Civic ran, are you ready?...a 22.64 @65mph. Ouch!
