Yea, you really need to... I use the RAGG TOPP nd the water beads up, just like you waxed it!!!

I use Ragg Topp on mine regularly (dont drive it in the rain or much otherwise etc (use it about every year or so)

When I clean the car I clean the top as well by putting it back a tiny bit so it starts to fold and wiping it good. Thats should be all you have to do~ just keep crude off of the metal parts as best you can.
