My friend is on the same network as I am, but his computer is getting flooded with assloads of packets, like within 8 minutes of connection he has 1.5 million packets, do you know of any virus or something like that, that would be causing this?

Sounds like someone could be wardriving in your area. Are you using 128bit W.E.P encryption. I would reconfigure the router if not. Also if possible try this program, http://www.otosoftware.com/product2.asp. They have a consumer version.
