common problems? trans issues?

hey there,

I am thinking about picking up a svt focus and wanted to get some input.

I heard they have transmissions problems. is this true? anything else?

These cars a pretty good. They had clutch issues that were TSB and were fixed by Ford. Mine is at 65K and haven't had anything other then general maintance and a thermostat housing crack. Even still on the origional clutch(I'm the 3rd owner) and I drive it like it was ment to drive, not beat to hell but fun.

They are not super fast but the handling is great, they have very good low end torque for daily driving, and are comfortible. Overall best car for its price

Here and there have been reports of transmissions going, but nothing like a pandemic, definitely a stout tranny, just needs some help in the clutch/flywheel arena.
