Coil Testing

Does anyone know how to test the coils on a 01 gt cause my car is missing and all the plugs look good but since the car is 10 yrs old I'm thinking that a coil has gone bad but i want to find out for sure before i buy a set of new ones so any input would be great.

not sure about testing one on a 4.6 but it should throw a code if it was bad.
