Didn't know where to post this....
I'm looking for a tool to tell me which injector is acting up on my 7.3 diesel engine, but would like the same tool to be able to look at the stang. Would be nice if said tool could also turn off seatbelt warnings and such. As far as I can find, most tools are VIN specific when it come to turning off vehicle parameters. I don't want to have to buy a scanner/defibrillator for each vehicle.

I'm just plain stupid when it comes to the OBD11 plug.

I have a GoPoint tool that works with my iphone. It can do multiple cars at the same time.

Any generic OBD 2 code reader can do what you want. It won't give the same level of detail as Ford IDS but, it'll sure tell you if you have a major part of the EFI down.

If your car/truck has the tech package, you can actually read codes there. On the Mustang, press radio buttons 3 and 6 simultaneously and follow the logical selections on the menu page provided.
